HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLUE!

So, one year ago today, our life definitely changed! Miriam came home to find Polly with 2 puppies already born. Throughout that day, 7 more puppies were born. After going through the selling process, one puppy became VERY special to us and we decided to keep him.

Well, Blue has been with us for 1 year now. It is hard to believe that he has gone from around 1 lb. to over 100 lbs in 365 days! We love him and are SO glad that he is part of the family.

Fun with the boys...

This morning, the other 2 male puppies came to visit Blue to play. Blue was super excited and really enjoyed playing with Oliver and Dash. They constantly ran and chased each other and fetched the frisbee. Boy was he worn out when they all left!

Puppy Playtime

So, who was supposed to be updating the blog now that they got a new camera...oops!

Well, last night, 2 of Polly's puppies came over to play with her and Blue. One looked a lot like Polly and one looked like Blue. Kind of cool to have 4 weims in the yard together. Our neighbors came out one time and did a double take. They said that they thought we just had 2! Here are a few pictures of the playtime. Not much luck getting them to stay still for a photo.

Puppy Updates - updated 7/16

The puppies turned 6 months old on June 19 so Polly sent out birthday cards to all of her puppies. We have heard back from some of the puppies and I thought I would send pictures of the ones that we have received.

It is hard to believe they have gotten so big in just 7 months! Check them out here at only one day old.

I know...I know...

With my camera broken, it is more difficult to remember to post. No pictures usually equals no update.

One of our local tv stations has a pet section on their website and you can send pictures of your own pets to be included. Polly has been on the website a couple of times. During the morning news, they also pick random pictures to show on the broadcast.

Well, a couple of weeks ago after looking at some of the pictures that I took of the puppies, I decided to send in a cute picture that was taken. Well, Polly and her puppy made the morning news!! Here's the picture that was submitted:

I checked out the pictures this morning and saw that another puppy made the website too! This is Oliver (you might remember him as "Frank the Tank" - at least that is what we called him while he was at our house during those 8 weeks or so.) He sure looks a lot like Polly.

Lily's last day with us

On Monday, March 31, Lily left to go live with her new family. With mixed emotions, we enjoyed our last night together. Lily was so much like Polly but quite a handful. It was hard though after keeping her for nearly 15 weeks to let her go to someone else's house. In some ways, she had become part of the fam. We realized that she would have to go but it was still kind of hard.

Another Vet Check

So, yesterday the puppies had another vet check...this would be their 12 week (~give or take~) and included 3 shots! They did great and our vet, Dr. Sonya, said they were very healthy and looked GREAT! I knew they had gotten bigger since their last visit at 8 weeks old but was very surprised when Dr. Sonya reported that Blue was 38 lbs. (gained 15 lbs!) and Lily was 28 lbs (gained 11 lbs!)!

We are so blessed to have healthy puppies! They love to play with each other, especially in the morning after a little breakfast. Polly still does quite well with them and LOVES to play with them outside. She was running circles around them yesterday before they cleverly decided to hide under Mike's shop where Polly can't fit. So, Polly decided to run circles around the shop until they came out. What a fun time to watch them!

Lily stays with us only one more week before leaving for her new family.
