So, we are finished, for the MOST part. Mike still has a few things to do to finish for good. We were saying last night that painting seems to NEVER end. Just when you think you're finished, you see another "spot" that needs to be touched up! We are really pleased with the way the kitchen turned out...especially after doing it ourselves.

More Kitchen Posts
To catch you up on the progress, here are a few more pictures.
Demolition Phase - we had to cut the sheetrock so the beadboard would fit correctly.

I got to use the power drill/screwdriver to take out the screws from the wall!
Installation #1 Phase
Then, we had to install a backer board so the bead board would be the right thickness.
Installation #2 Phase
While Mike cut the boards, I got to install them with the handy air compressed stapler! Can you believe Mike is allowing me to use the power tools?!?
Here's a sneak peak.
Tonight we are painting the trim and bead board and will finish by painting one more coat of the green pain tomorrow night. This project should be coming to a close soon! (Cross your fingers!)

Time for a new look!
Mike and I finally decided it was time for a little upgrade in the kitchen. We are embarking on the project - painting (finally decided on color!!), installing beadboard, and chair rails. Sunday afternoon/evening, we began the painting phase.
Here is what the "old kichen" looked like...and a few fun Mike and Polly pics!
Here is the 1st phase of re-decorating...painting. Funny how the same color looks different in a different light!
Fun Polly pictures
Here are a few random pictures of Polly. She finds the craziest places to be and the funniest poses! Can you tell we love her?
Just hanging out in the kitchen.

Weekend with the Millers
Miriam's parents stopped for a visit this past weekend for a little rest before heading up to Richmond, VA for the week. We were able to spend time with them and we were glad we were on the way. Polly was happy to get the extra attention...boy, does she get spoiled when she is with either set of the grandparents!
Sunday after church, Miriam and Mom went to the Spa and enjoyed a massage and pedicure for a fun pre-anniversary gift.
Monday, Mom and Dad celebrated their 30th anniversary! Congrats!!
