I was playing around with our movie making software last night. I hope that the next movies will be better but here's a look at the trial run. Enjoy!

Boating at Falls 7.20.08

We joined our friends on their boat again yesterday for a little boating and also headed over to Sandling Beach to watch our church's annual lake baptism. The Mullis family also joined us.

Mike dreams of having woodshops like they had in Old Salem!

Housed the single men of the town. There was also a Single Sisters' House for the single women of the town.

Old Salem houses the current Salem College which is an all girls' college today. The Moravians considered all people equal, men and women. Although not common elsewhere in the day, women were taught in schools just as the men.

Anniversary Dinner - Salem Tavern
Mike tried the special - pheasant. Miriam stuck with an original - Chicken Pot Pie.

Blogger and Bubbleshare woes...

So, Blogger and Bubbleshare are not cooperating this weekend for me...pictures from our new fancy camera coming soon!

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Old Salem

As of 7.12.08, we have been married for 5 years! To celebrate, we went to Old Salem on Saturday. Old Salem is in Winston-Salem, just a little over 1 hour away. Old Salem is a community built on the foundation of the Moravian religion, later transformed into one of the most successful economic centers in early America. Old Salem is not simply about Moravian history; it is a reflection on an evolving diverse community in the South, struggling with common principles such as freedom, faith, tradition, government, slavery and war.

The old buildings are now available for you to tour. So, we visited a few of them and of course, the bakery. After touring around for a while, we had dinner at the
Old Salem Tavern. Mike tried pheasant for the 1st time and Miriam had the traditional chicken pot pie.

What a nice day trip to celebrate our anniversary!

Puppy Updates - updated 7/16

The puppies turned 6 months old on June 19 so Polly sent out birthday cards to all of her puppies. We have heard back from some of the puppies and I thought I would send pictures of the ones that we have received.

It is hard to believe they have gotten so big in just 7 months! Check them out here at only one day old.

Blue - 6 months

Lily - 6 months

Reagan - 4 months

Zora - 3 months

Oliver - 7 months
